Children aged nine to twelve have revealed items on their back-to-school wish lists for the upcoming academic year. Interviews with six children, and insights from some eight-year-olds, highlighted various preferences.
Among the desired items are new shoes, with one nine-year-old mentioning a need to replace worn-out basketball shoes. Another eleven-year-old expressed a desire for matching and clean school supplies, noting that some schools require students to bring pencils.
Mechanical pencils were also mentioned as a preferred writing tool by an eleven-year-old, who viewed them as more advanced. Other children expressed interest in personalized items such as clipboards with stickers and various keychains. One eleven-year-old also observed a trend towards plainer clothing styles.
