Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences following a police operation in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The arrests occurred on Newton Street at 14:45 BST on Sunday.
Both individuals were arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and remain in custody. The operation was led by Counter Terrorism Policing London, working with Counter Terrorism Policing North West and Greater Manchester Police.
A Counter Terrorism Policing London spokesperson stated there is currently no information to suggest any wider threat to the public.
