Two men have been charged in connection with the discovery of a man's body found inside a suitcase in woods in Kent. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Joshua Miller, 32, of Kingfisher Court, Wandsworth, has been charged with murder and preventing a lawful burial. Jamie Cooper, 27, residing at the same address, faces a charge of preventing a lawful burial.
The investigation began after officers were called to a block of flats on Kingfisher Court, off Queensmere Road in Wandsworth, at approximately 10:55 PM BST on Thursday. Although no one was present at the property, a subsequent search led officers to suspect that an individual had been harmed there, prompting the launch of a full investigation.
The following day, Friday, police attended a wooded area in Borstal, Kent, where they tragically discovered a man's body. While formal identification is still pending, police believe they know the identity of the deceased and have informed his next of kin, who are currently receiving support from specialist officers.
Authorities have stated that the victim and the two men now charged were known to each other. Both Miller and Cooper have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday.
This grim discovery has sent shockwaves through the local communities in both Wandsworth and Borstal. The ongoing legal proceedings will aim to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding this deeply distressing incident.
