Two people were killed and at least 25 others injured after a shooting at a homecoming block party in Vienna, Georgia, early on Sunday, according to authorities. The incident occurred at a gathering of more than 1,000 people, with shots fired at about 50 individuals in two locations.
In a separate incident, a 12-year-old girl was shot and killed, and three others were wounded, in a Baltimore park on Saturday. Officials said the gunfire evidently broke out over a parking spot. Baltimore police commissioner Richard Worley stated that two suspects are being sought after two different types of gun cartridges were found at the scene.
The 12-year-old girl was a bystander at a nearby field, hit when one of the shooters "fired multiple rounds down range", Commissioner Worley said. A 25-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and a 28-year-old man were also shot, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
As of Sunday, the 277th day of 2026, there have been at least 355 mass shootings reported in the US this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
