Police have arrested two more people after homes in High Green, Sheffield, were evacuated. Residents were told to leave their properties on Tuesday while Army bomb disposal experts and police searched a property on Mapplebeck Road.
During the search, suspected chemicals, drugs, and weapons were recovered. Rachel Hale, 35, of Mapplebeck Road, was charged with an offence under the Explosive Substances Act 1883 and has been remanded in custody following an appearance at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Previously, South Yorkshire Police stated that a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s were arrested under the Explosive Substances Act and on suspicion of drug offences. Both have since been bailed pending further inquiries.
Det Ch Insp Aneela Khalil-Khan, who is leading the investigation, said that while one suspect has been charged and two more questioned, the investigation is ongoing. Police confirmed that the search at the Mapplebeck Road house, led by the Army's Explosive Ordnance Team, concluded on Wednesday and there is no longer a risk to nearby properties or people.
