Tyrhys Dolan, the former Blackburn Rovers winger, is preparing for a significant match as Espanyol faces Real Madrid at the RCDE Stadium on Saturday. Dolan, 24, who joined Espanyol last summer, described the encounter as one of the biggest tests of his career.
The Manchester-born player began his second season in Spain by scoring in Espanyol's 3-0 win against Levante. He now faces Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid, who are playing their first match of the season.
Dolan stated that Espanyol will maintain their approach and not let the occasion overwhelm them. He also noted the possibility of playing against fellow English players Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but emphasised focusing on the game.
Reflecting on his move to Spain, Dolan believes the experience has matured him both on and off the pitch. He feels a greater sense of responsibility within the team this year and aims for Espanyol to achieve a top-six position in La Liga.
