The UK Minister for Europe, Lord Wood of Anfield, has called for calm following a judgment issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers today, 16 September 2026.
Lord Wood stated that the UK respects the independence of the Court and its judicial process, and remains committed to justice, accountability, and reconciliation across the region. He emphasised that the judgment concerns individuals and does not reflect on Kosovo's statehood, sovereignty, or right to determine its future.
The Minister urged political leaders and public figures to promote calm, ensure peaceful reactions, and prioritise people's safety. He added that the UK will continue to work with partners to support peace, justice, and a secure future for all communities.
