The UK economy has been confirmed as the fastest growing in the G7 for the first half of 2026, with figures revised upwards. This was highlighted by the British Ambassador to the United States, Sir Christian Turner, in a speech on 30 September 2026.

Sir Christian also noted that bilateral trade between the UK and the US has reached a record $430 billion this year, marking a 4% increase. The UK is a significant investor in 25 of the 50 US states, with $1.7 trillion invested in each other's economies.

In terms of defence, the UK is NATO's third-highest spender in cash terms, with a commitment of nearly $400 billion over the next four years. Additionally, 15% of every F35 airframe is manufactured in the UK.
