The UK government has issued a fresh warning to crown dependencies and overseas territories that they must do more to tackle illicit finance or face potential consequences.
The move comes as part of the government's efforts to combat financial crime and maintain the integrity of the global financial system.
Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man, among others, have been called upon to increase transparency in their anti-money laundering measures.
The UK government has been working closely with these jurisdictions to ensure they meet the required standards, but has warned that further action could be taken if progress is not made.
The UK's Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories Minister, Caroline Dinenage, said: 'We are committed to working with our Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories to ensure they have the necessary tools and support to tackle illicit finance.'
However, the UK government has also made clear that it expects to see significant improvements in the coming months, and that failure to comply could result in further action being taken.
