The Met Office has issued a heatwave alert for Greater Manchester, warning residents to expect scorching temperatures within days. According to the forecast, the region is set to reach highs of 27C by the end of the week, with temperatures potentially soaring even higher over the weekend.
The latest Met Office data suggests that Greater Manchester will experience a prolonged period of hot weather, with temperatures remaining above 25C for several days. This has prompted the Met Office to issue a heatwave alert, advising residents to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated.
Residents are being advised to stay out of the sun, especially during the hottest part of the day, and to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. The Met Office also recommends that people check on vulnerable neighbours and friends, such as the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions.
The heatwave is expected to affect other parts of the North West, including Lancashire and Cheshire, with temperatures reaching 26C in some areas.
