The UK is bracing itself for a sweltering week as temperatures soar across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning, with temperatures expected to reach 35°C in some areas by the end of the week.
Wednesday will see temperatures in the South East of England reach a scorching 34°C, while the South West can expect highs of 33°C. Scotland's west coast is predicted to hit 28°C, with the east coast a degree cooler at 27°C.
In Wales, temperatures are expected to peak at 30°C in the south and 27°C in the north, while Northern Ireland will see highs of 29°C in the north and 27°C in the south.
Residents are being urged to take precautions to stay safe during the heatwave, including staying hydrated, taking regular breaks in shaded areas, and avoiding strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day.
