The UK has confirmed an increase in its support package for a border security project in Tajikistan. The initiative, announced today, will provide additional funding to the OSCE Programme Office and Border Management Staff College.
The new UK-funded project is designed to enhance operational capability, strengthen training and institutional capacity, and address gender gaps within front-line border management. This support aims to counter emerging threats including organised crime, terrorism financing, and irregular migration.
The UK also commended the Programme Office's work on gender equality, human rights, and media standards, and expressed support for Tajikistan's ambitions for sustainable economic growth.
