The UK Space Agency, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), has issued a call for proposals to deliver the European Space Education Resource Office in the UK (ESERO-UK) programme. The initiative aims to strengthen the space sector workforce and nurture future talent.
The UK Space Agency intends to award up to £4.5 million over the financial years 2027/28 to 2029/30 for the delivery of ESERO-UK. ESA anticipates providing an additional €750,000, which is approximately £638,700, over the same period, subject to separate contract negotiations. This brings the total co-funding envelope for ESERO-UK to approximately £5,138,700 from April 2027 to March 2030.
The ESERO-UK programme will use space as a context to support learning, develop skills, and provide opportunities for young people aged 4–19 to explore space science, technology, and careers. Objectives include supporting the future space sector skills pipeline and improving equity, inclusion, and diversity in the future space workforce.
