The UK Space Strategy has been unveiled, setting out an enhanced approach for the nation's space sector. The strategy, which is supported by £7.8 billion of investment through to 2030, focuses on defence, national security, and economic growth.
The government's vision is for the UK to be a competitive space power, assertive in protecting its interests and driving growth. This will be achieved through a new approach to investments, operations, and partnerships, concentrating resources on capabilities deemed most important for national security, defence, and economic growth.
The strategy also highlights the acceleration of four subsectors, where efforts and resources will be focused to build capability faster and at greater scale. The aim is to build a stronger, more competitive, and resilient space sector, enhance the UK’s security and sovereign capabilities, and ensure space continues to support growth and prosperity across the country.
