A mobile unit known as the Khyzhak brigade is operating on the H20 highway in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, tasked with shooting down Russian drones. The highway, which runs from Kramatorsk to Kostyantynivka, is described as a critical route where any movement can become a target.
Dzhango, a member of the brigade, was observed shooting down a Russian FPV drone. The unit's role involves standing watch and intercepting drones to protect troop rotations and armoured vehicle movements.
The H20 highway bears visible damage from drone strikes, cluster munitions, and artillery. The Khyzhak brigade members are former police patrol officers who joined the combat unit, with one fighter, Dzhango, having previously been wounded in a police incident.
One church, initially intact amidst damaged buildings, reportedly burned down a week after coming under artillery fire. The brigade continues its operations, with Dzhango reporting nine more drones shot down on a subsequent day.
