The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued updated guidance on how the government funds apprenticeships in England. These changes apply to apprentices who commence their programmes on or after 1 August 2026.
The guidance outlines the apprenticeship funding policy and rules that employers and training providers must adhere to in order to secure funding for training and assessing apprentices. This update aligns with changes to the apprenticeship funding rules.
A separate guidance document, 'Apprenticeship funding for employers who do not pay the apprenticeship levy', has also been updated to include information on apprenticeship units.
