Georgie Perris-Redding, co-captain of the US Eagles, is set to lead her team against Wales at Cardiff Arms Park this Saturday. Perris-Redding, who began her rugby journey at Crewe & Nantwich RUFC in Cheshire, relocated to the US five years ago.
Born in Detroit, Perris-Redding qualified to play for the Eagles. Her move to the US was influenced by former USA player Jess Wooden, who suggested she spend a summer coaching at the American Rugby Professional Training Center (ARPTC) in Arkansas.
Perris-Redding, now a full-time Premiership Women’s Rugby professional, has participated in two World Cups. She co-leads the Eagles with Erica Jarrell-Searcy. The US Eagles recently secured a 40-36 victory against Ireland in Dublin and squared a series with South Africa over the summer.
The match against Wales will be broadcast in the UK on BBC iPlayer and BBC Wales. Following this, the Eagles are scheduled to play Italy in Nashville and Mansfield in October, before a match against England in Harrison, New Jersey.
