US nutrition startup Berry Street announced on Monday that it has merged with Indian startup Healthify, backed by Khosla Ventures. The merger aims to leverage the growing trend of individuals using GLP-1 drugs for weight loss.
Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove and Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht will serve as co-CEOs of the new combined entity. The company will operate under the Berry Street brand in the US and the Healthify brand in other markets, including India.
Healthify provides AI-powered and human fitness and nutritional coaching via an app, claiming to have served over 45 million customers. Berry Street offers insurance-covered GLP-1 care through a network of more than 2,000 clinics and also provides AI-powered nutrition coaching and meal tracking.
Healthify's CEO Tushar Vashisht stated that the merger provides the clinical infrastructure to deliver on their mission of putting a dietitian in every human's pocket within the US market. Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, added that the combined platform will redefine metabolic care by pairing AI with a nationwide network of expert clinicians.
