Democratic US Senator Jon Ossoff has reiterated his "zero interest" in a presidential run in 2028, a stance he has expressed multiple times this year. He made the declaration during a debate this week, and previously told a local TV station last month and MS Now in August.
Despite Ossoff's repeated denials, speculation about his future political ambitions persists in Washington and beyond. His political rise in Georgia, a Republican-leaning swing state, and his speeches on national issues are cited as factors contributing to this speculation.
For the upcoming November Senate election, Ossoff is reportedly leading his Republican challenger, Congressman Mike Collins, by four to eight points in most polls. This lead is notable as no Democrat has posted such a margin in Georgia since the late 1990s.
During a debate in October, Ossoff challenged Collins on his votes supporting the Iran war and presidential tariffs, as well as alleged ties to white nationalists.
