Red Bull's Max Verstappen claimed a dominant victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, his second win in a week. Verstappen fought off an early challenge from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to control the race from start to finish. This win follows his and Red Bull's first victory of the year in Malaysia last weekend, signalling the team's return as a significant force.
Leclerc finished second, while Lewis Hamilton, after a strategic decision to attempt 44 laps on soft tyres, ended up in sixth place. Hamilton lost positions in the closing laps to Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Antonelli's third-place finish, combined with his teammate George Russell finishing ninth, has extended his championship lead to 102 points. This means Antonelli could potentially secure his first world title at the upcoming United States Grand Prix on 25 October. To become champion in Austin, he would need to win the race with Russell finishing ninth or lower.
