A vicar in the Golden Valley, Herefordshire, recently completed a three-day walk across the area. The perambulation involved traversing bridleways, holloways, footpaths, and country lanes.
The walk was inspired by the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi’s death. During the journey, the vicar stayed overnight in parish churches, specifically Madley, Tyberton, and Peterchurch.
The experience included conversations with local residents. Topics discussed included Saint Francis's love of animals and his rejection of wealth, which some found “extreme”.
