Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has been given a four-game La Liga suspension, which will prevent him from playing in the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona. The ban was announced hours before Real Madrid's Champions League match against Roma on Wednesday.
The suspension follows a red card issued to Vinicius Jr for pulling an opponent's hair and for protesting against the referee. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision, stating he did not recall any other player receiving a four-match suspension for similar actions.
Real Madrid coach José Mourinho also commented on the timing of the announcement, questioning why a player from a Spanish team would learn of a four-match suspension just two hours before a crucial match. Vinicius Jr will miss Sunday's home match against Sevilla, the El Clasico, and away matches at Racing Santander and Valencia.
