Virgin Media O2 has committed to another decade of sponsorship for The O2 arena, extending the agreement until at least 2038. This will keep the O2 name on the Greenwich arena and its surrounding entertainment district.
The company and venue owner AEG have not disclosed the value of the new agreement. A source close to Virgin Media O2 described a reported £200m figure as "purely speculation."
Under the new agreement, O2 customers will gain access to 50% more tickets for arena shows via the Priority Tickets programme. For the first time, customers will also receive pre-sale access to events at the smaller Indigo at The O2 venue.
Virgin Media O2 views the partnership as a driver of customer loyalty, citing 1.7m tickets bought by O2 customers through Priority Tickets in 2025. This commitment comes as the telecom group's owners are reportedly targeting around £600m in cost savings.
