Stephen Teagle, Vistry's partnerships chief, is preparing to retire after a 40-year career in the housing sector. He will be succeeded by Catherine Raynsford, who is currently the managing director of major stock acquisitions at Legal & General Affordable Homes.

Ms Raynsford is scheduled to join Vistry on 1 January 2027. Mr Teagle will remain with the housebuilder through the first quarter of next year to oversee the handover process, departing at the end of March.

This leadership change follows a period of financial difficulty for Vistry, which recently reported a £660m loss. It also comes after other senior appointments, including Rob Woodward as chair in March and Adam Daniels as group chief executive in April.

In other industry news, Knight Frank has promoted Sophie McCarthy to head of sales at its Islington office. Ms McCarthy has been with Knight Frank for 17 years and has worked at the Islington branch since its opening in 2012.

Conveybuddy has appointed Luke Christodoulides, formerly of NatWest, as its first head of distribution. He will focus on developing relationships with mortgage networks and advisory firms. The company also promoted Rachel Payne to sales manager.
