The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is scheduled to run its Wholesale Qualified Person (WQP) training course for the fifth time. The online course will take place on 14 and 15 October 2026, with sessions from 9am to 1pm on both days.
The training aims to introduce the role and responsibilities of a WQP, alongside the legislative requirements for wholesale distribution. Topics will include the Veterinary Medicines Regulations, Good Distribution Practice, quality management systems, and preparing for VMD inspections.
VMD inspectors will deliver the course, which will feature lectures, discussions, and practical activities. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, receive practical support, and engage with real-life scenarios. The course is suitable for those aspiring to become WQPs, existing WQPs seeking to refresh their knowledge, and businesses applying to become wholesale dealers of veterinary medicines. The cost is £495 per person, which includes a certificate of attendance.
