He believes immigration should be temporarily halted to assess the country's needs before potentially reopening it for individuals who will contribute.
Joe, an immigrant from China who arrived in the UK at age four, voted Labour when Jeremy Corbyn was leader and more recently for the Greens. He disagreed with Phill's assessment of Green economic policies and criticised the Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe's website for focusing almost exclusively on immigrants and non-British people.
Both men agreed that people arriving on small boats was not a positive development, though for different reasons. Joe's concern was primarily about the danger and money going to people traffickers, while Phill focused on the broader impact of immigration. They also discussed foxhunting, with Phill strongly in favour and Joe more on the fence, acknowledging potential economic benefits.
