Wacom, a Japanese company known for its graphics tablets, has introduced the Movinkpad 11, an Android-based device designed for digital artists. Priced at $500, this tablet is presented as a mid-range option for those passionate about digital art.
The Movinkpad 11 features an 11.45-inch screen, 8 gigabytes of memory, and 128 gigabytes of storage. It weighs 1.3 pounds and is powered via a USB charger, as it is battery-free. The device includes the Pro Pen 3 stylus, which is 6.3 inches long and has three programmable side buttons, with customisable nibs available.
Setting up the Movinkpad 11 involves creating an initial PIN, though security settings can be adjusted. As an Android device, it can be synced with a Google account. The tablet comes with Wacom Canvas, a free digital art software, and also supports paid applications like Clip Studio Paint.
While Wacom's Movinkpad Pro 14, released last autumn, offers upgrades like an OLED screen with 3K resolution for $899, the Movinkpad 11 is positioned as an accessible entry point. It sits between budget options, such as the Huion Inspiroy H640P at around $30, and high-end devices like Wacom's Cintiq Pro 27, which costs $3,500, or an iPad, costing up to $1,100.
