Wales wing Josh Adams has set his sights on playing in a third World Cup, expressing a strong desire to feature in the tournament in Australia next year. The Cardiff back, 31, was the top try scorer in the 2019 World Cup in Japan, where Wales reached the semi-finals, and was also part of the squad that lost a quarter-final to Argentina four years later.
Adams is nearing full fitness after a calf injury sustained in July, which ruled him out of Wales' 43-0 defeat by South Africa. He has missed Cardiff's start to the season but anticipates a club return in October and expects to be fit for international duty next month.
Wales will kick off their World Cup campaign against Zimbabwe in Adelaide on 2 October 2027, followed by pool games against Tonga and England. Before then, Wales will play four matches in the second half of the Nations Championship in November, hosting Japan, New Zealand, and Australia in Cardiff, before a final play-off match at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.
