Wardley predicts early stoppage in Dubois rematch

Fabio Wardley says he will stop Daniel Dubois within four rounds when they meet in a heavyweight rematch at the O2 Arena on 17 October.

  • Wardley was stopped by Dubois in round 11 in May, losing the WBO belt.
  • The rematch is scheduled for 17 October at London's O2 Arena.
  • Wardley made the prediction while speaking to DAZN on Wednesday.

Fabio Wardley has predicted he will end his heavyweight rematch with Daniel Dubois inside four rounds when the pair meet at London's O2 Arena on 17 October.

Wardley was stopped in round 11 of their first fight in May, after dropping Dubois twice early on. Dubois rallied to take the WBO title and hand Wardley his first professional defeat.

Speaking to DAZN on Wednesday, Wardley said there were clear things he got right and wrong in the first fight, and that the adjustments needed were not major. When asked how the rematch would end, he said: "Within four rounds."

Wardley also defended his trainer Ben Davison, who faced criticism after the first fight and again after coaching Moses Itauma to a ninth-round stoppage loss on Saturday. Wardley said he trusted Davison and his long-time coach Robert Hodgins.

Why this matters: The rematch is a significant heavyweight title fight between two British boxers, with Wardley aiming to reclaim the WBO belt.

What this means for you: Fans can watch the rematch at the O2 Arena on 17 October.
