Welsh Fire's campaign in The Hundred men's competition has ended after a narrow six-run defeat by London Spirit in their final group phase match at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The Fire finished their season with four wins from eight matches, placing them four points behind Manchester Super Giants and Sunrisers Leeds.

London Spirit, who batted first, were restricted to 131-8 from 100 balls by a disciplined Fire bowling attack. Jonny Bairstow top-scored for Spirit with 34 from 19 balls. In response, Welsh Fire looked set for victory with Joe Root and Jordan Cox building a 47-run stand, taking the score to 90-2.

Despite Cox's 44 from 28 balls, Fire lost Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Rachin Ravindra in quick succession. Marco Jansen needed a six from the final ball to level the score but was caught, leaving Fire short on 125-7.
