West Bromwich Albion are currently leading the Championship table, having secured a 1-0 victory against Derby on Wednesday, playing with 10 men for over an hour. This win marked their ninth clean sheet in 18 league games under interim manager James Morrison. Albion, who were second-bottom in the Championship on 11 March, have achieved a 10-match unbeaten streak and have lost only once this season.
Queens Park Rangers, who have also lost only once this season, are two points behind West Brom and will face them on Saturday at 12:30 BST.
In League One, Sheffield Wednesday are at the top of the table with four wins in five games. The Owls, who suffered relegation last season, also secured an EFL Cup win against Championship side Bolton. They are set to host struggling Wigan Athletic on Saturday at 15:00 BST.
Leicester City, another side relegated last season, are currently 18th in League One with just five points from their opening five games. They are seven points behind leaders Sheffield Wednesday and will travel to Stockport on Saturday at 15:00 BST.
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Derby manager John Eustace, whose side suffered a 1-0 home defeat by 10-man West Brom, marking their fourth loss in six games. Eustace will welcome his former club, Birmingham City, to Pride Park on Saturday at 12:30 BST. Birmingham manager Chris Davies is also facing scrutiny, with his side having seven points from six matches.
