Which? Travel has released a list of hidden beaches across the UK, offering alternatives to more crowded seaside spots for the long weekend. The selection includes a range of coastal locations, from traditional fishing enclaves to pristine islets.
Among the recommendations is St Cuthbert’s Island in Northumberland, a tidal islet accessible by foot from Holy Island during low tide. Visitors to Holy Island must monitor crossing times on the Visit Northumberland website due to the causeway being submerged twice daily.
Other highlighted locations include Fairbourne Beach in Gwynedd, accessible via a ferry and the Fairbourne Railway, and Pakefield in Suffolk, known for its long sandy stretch and beach huts available for hire. Danes Dyke in East Yorkshire, Fraserburgh beach in Aberdeenshire, and Marloes Sands in Pembrokeshire also feature on the list.
