Whitegates Huddersfield has announced a significant expansion of its operations in West Yorkshire with the acquisition of Harvey & Ryall Estate Agency. The deal sees franchise owners Chan Khangura and Kashmir Khangura integrate Harvey & Ryall’s entire property portfolio into their existing Whitegates business, further solidifying their market position across the region.
Harvey & Ryall, previously owned by Keon and Emma Ryall, has established a strong reputation in residential sales and lettings, serving a broad client base of vendors, landlords, buyers, and tenants. Whitegates has assured clients that they will continue to receive comprehensive support throughout the transition period, with an emphasis on maintaining the personal service valued by existing customers.
This acquisition marks another strategic step in the growth trajectory of the Huddersfield franchise. Since Chan and Kashmir Khangura became Whitegates franchise owners in 2012, their expansion strategy has combined organic growth with a series of targeted acquisitions. The addition of Harvey & Ryall’s portfolio is expected to bolster Whitegates’ managed property holdings and enhance its service offerings across West Yorkshire.
Following the completion of the acquisition, Harvey & Ryall’s clients will now gain access to Whitegates’ extensive range of sales, lettings, marketing, and compliance services. These services are further supported by the wider Whitegates franchise network, promising enhanced resources and broader market reach for all clients. Chan Khangura, managing director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield, and Pontefract, expressed delight at the integration, highlighting Harvey & Ryall’s strong local reputation and client relationships.
Keon Ryall commented on the decision, stating that careful consideration was given to ensuring clients and their portfolio would be managed by a business sharing their values and commitment to customer service. He acknowledged Chan and Kashmir Khangura’s proven track record of successfully integrating independent agencies while maintaining a personalised service. Rob Smith, group managing director of The Property Franchise Group, commended the Khanguras' clear, long-term acquisition strategy and their ability to successfully integrate high-quality local businesses.
