Aston Villa and Tottenham, both struggling in the early Premier League season, will face each other on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both clubs, despite significant summer spending, are winless and sit in the bottom four of the table.
Villa, under Unai Emery, have brought in 10 new players and sold six, including Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, spending over £250m. Tottenham also added 10 players for more than £300m. Emery remains confident Villa will improve, despite acknowledging the challenge of integrating new players.
Villa have secured just one point from their opening four games, while Tottenham are still searching for their first Premier League goal this term, having failed to score in four consecutive matches. Historically, none of the past 22 Premier League meetings between the two sides have ended in a draw.
Following Saturday's match, both teams will face an extended three-week break, though many players will be on international duty, limiting training ground time for head coaches.
