Wolf Alice has released 'Hit The Sky', the final track in their collection of B-sides from 'The Clearing'. This folksy song completes 'The Clearing: B Sides', following 'Gospel Oak' and a cover of The Roches' 'Hammond Song'.
'Hit The Sky' is described as a stomping folk rock jam, featuring fiddle playing by James Gavin and backing vocals from Julia Cumming of Sunflower Bean. The track was originally a demo from 'The Clearing' sessions and was completed a year later.
Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell explained that the song, which was first performed live at the Royal Albert Hall in March, is about "encouraging someone you love to be themselves, because you can see how fabulous they are!"
The complete digital collection of B-sides is now available. A physical seven-inch version is scheduled for release on Friday, August 21.
'The Clearing' was Wolf Alice's second Number One album, earning them a fourth consecutive Mercury Prize nomination and a BRIT Award.
