Amanda Quiney, 28, has spoken publicly about an alleged rape in Sandwell Valley Park on 29 June, stating she hopes it will encourage other victims to come forward and seek justice. West Midlands Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for information.
Ms Quiney said she had been reading in the park before making her way back to her car when she lost consciousness. She reported waking up face down with injuries, including a bleeding head wound, cuts and bruising to her face, and marks around her neck.
Ms Quiney, a mother of four, said the park had previously been a safe space for her but she now feels unable to return. She expressed frustration at the current lack of forensic or eyewitness evidence and hopes sharing her experience will prompt anyone who saw unusual activity that morning to contact police.
West Midlands Police are appealing for anyone with information about what happened, or who may have seen unusual activity in the area, to come forward.
