Bailee Lynn Rios, 36, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with a Los Angeles metro bus crash on Tuesday. Prosecutors allege she was driving under the influence, sped down the wrong side of the road, ran a red light, and collided with the bus, resulting in the deaths of two passengers, Daniel Castillo, 46, and Gage Weida, 31.
Following the bus collision, a news helicopter covering the incident crashed, killing two individuals onboard, pilot George Marciniw and reporter Eliana Moreno, along with a pedestrian, Edy Gutierrez Mejia, 29. Investigators are examining video footage from the helicopter, which reportedly captured an alarm sounding in the cockpit as it lost altitude.
Ms Rios is being held on $4.1m bail and is scheduled for arraignment on 18 September.
