An inquest opening at Caernarfon Coroners' Court heard that Sophie Goodyer-Bird, 35, died of heatstroke while climbing Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon, on 10 July. Ms Goodyer-Bird, from Birmingham, reportedly became increasingly tired while descending the mountain.
Emergency services were called and attempted CPR after she became unresponsive near the end of the walk, but were unable to revive her. Her death was confirmed shortly afterwards.
Coroner Kate Robertson noted that the provisional cause of death was exertional heat stroke. The inquest has been adjourned to a full hearing at a later date.
