Model Rachel Peru and business coach Tina Boden, both in their 50s, became live mannequins in a lingerie shop window in Nantwich, Cheshire, on Friday. The action was part of a campaign to challenge ageism and promote self-acceptance, according to the women.

The campaign, named 'Accepting Who We Are' (AWWA), was launched in June 2025. Ms Boden stated that the initiative aims to encourage women to feel seen and relate to diverse body types, particularly in advertising for clothing like swimwear.

Shop owner Kate Hinton confirmed this was the second time such an event had been staged, noting that a previous live mannequin event in February was a very successful day for customers.
