Inditex, the company behind Zara, has introduced its cut-price fashion chain, Lefties, to the UK market. The first Lefties store opened in Liverpool on Thursday, 27 August 2026, a few weeks after its UK website quietly launched.
The Liverpool One outlet features robotic assistance, including self-checkouts that scan entire baskets and a system for sorting clothes hangers. Fitting rooms are also equipped with a hatch for unwanted items, which are then sorted by robots behind the scenes.
Lefties plans to open two additional UK stores this year, located in the Lakeside shopping mall in Essex and the Metrocentre near Newcastle. More stores are anticipated next year, though the chain's general director stated there is no specific number of UK stores in mind, with future expansion depending on the performance of the initial outlets.
The brand, which originated in 1999 as an outlet for Zara's unsold items, now stocks its own range of men's, women's, and children's clothing, shoes, and homewares. Lefties aims to offer a more cost-conscious option, with products priced between Primark and Shein. The Liverpool store is also the first Lefties to stock thermal clothing.
