A 12-year-old student from Bicester, Ariel, has achieved six GCSEs and an advanced mathematics qualification, having been home-schooled since the Covid pandemic. Her results include five grade 9s, a grade 8, and an A grade in OCR Additional Mathematics.
Ariel passed two GCSEs in maths and chemistry with grade 9s in 2024 when she was 10. In 2025, she secured two more grade 9s in Physics and Further Maths. On Thursday, she added a grade 9 in GCSE Biology, a grade 8 in GCSE Further Pure Mathematics, and an A grade in OCR Additional Mathematics, which covers concepts typically studied before A-levels.
Her older sister, Clara, 23, who supported Ariel and her 15-year-old brother Elias with their studies, highlighted the siblings' self-motivation as key to their achievements. Ariel expressed her excitement at her results and her family's pride.
Ariel enjoys maths, finding it interesting and easier than other subjects. She has aspirations to become a lecturer and to appear on TV, inspired by K-dramas and K-pop. She plans to celebrate her success with movies and a family dinner over the weekend.
