The San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings are the first teams to achieve a 5-0 record this NFL season after week five. The 49ers secured their perfect start with a 32-29 victory over the Super Bowl champions Seattle, despite defensive star Dre Greenlaw being ejected early on.
San Francisco capitalised on seven turnovers forced in the game, scoring 21 points from them. New wide receiver Mike Evans contributed significantly with 113 receiving yards and a touchdown, helping Brock Purdy lead the team to victory.
The Minnesota Vikings also remain undefeated, reaching 5-0 after a 23-13 defensive masterclass against the New Orleans Saints. Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders and New York Giants ended their game in a 27-27 tie following a series of errors in overtime.
Elsewhere, the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, and Detroit Lions all moved to a 3-2 record for the season. The Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, and Miami Dolphins are now all 0-5.
