Adit Singh, who previously helped source and co-lead the first funding round for chip startup Cerebras, has joined Mayfield as an infrastructure partner. Singh announced his move to the 57-year-old venture capital firm on Thursday.
In his new role at Mayfield, Singh will concentrate on investments in hardware, infrastructure software, cybersecurity, and physical AI. He cited Mayfield's strength in the semiconductor sector as a key reason for his decision.
Singh's past experience includes being a partner at Foundation Capital when Cerebras received its initial funding. Foundation Capital held approximately a 7% stake in Cerebras by the time of its IPO in May, when the company's valuation reached nearly $50 billion.
