  • Alex Scott could be out for two months with a thigh injury.
  • He played through discomfort during England's 7-0 win over Croatia.
  • Scott will miss England's upcoming Nations League games against Czechia, Croatia, and Spain.

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has withdrawn from the England squad and faces a potential two-month layoff due to a thigh injury. Scott, who made an impressive full debut in England's 7-0 victory over Croatia on Saturday, reportedly felt discomfort before the match and experienced a worsening of the problem after playing through the pain.

The injury is a significant blow for both Scott and Bournemouth. He was expected to start again when England hosts Czechia in the Nations League on Tuesday night. England coach Thomas Tuchel will now need to adjust his midfield for the upcoming international fixtures, including November's games against Croatia and Spain.

Scott's determination to represent his country was evident as he remained with the squad following the death of his grandfather. James Garner and Myles Lewis-Skelly have been named as replacements for Scott, with Morgan Rogers or Jude Bellingham also potential options for a deeper midfield role.
