England midfielder Alex Scott is facing a potential two-month spell on the sidelines due to a thigh injury. England manager Thomas Tuchel has described the issue as a "strange one" and defended the national team's handling of the 23-year-old Bournemouth player.
Tuchel stated there was "zero risk-taking" before the injury emerged. Scott had impressed on his full England debut in Saturday's 7-0 Nations League victory against Croatia, having also appeared as a substitute in the 2-0 win in Czechia last week.
Despite pre-match discomfort before Tuesday's home fixture against Czechia, Scott reportedly felt he was not injured even after the Croatia match and before a scan. Tuchel acknowledged that Bournemouth would be unhappy to lose a key player but insisted that communications between medical teams had been a "totally open process."
Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa also left the England camp on Monday due to an aggravated issue, though Tuchel expects it to be "nothing major."
