Creative Assembly has revealed details about Alien: Isolation 2, a sequel to their 2014 game. The project began development around the 10th anniversary of the original title, according to Alistair Hope, creative lead for both games.
The new game introduces a protagonist named Blake, an employee of Weyland-Yutani. This new character will navigate a dangerous world, continuing the franchise's tradition of strong female leads.
The setting for Alien: Isolation 2 is a planet that combines elements of LV-426 with a windswept forest. A crashed vessel, familiar to fans of the first game, is discovered by a Weyland-Yutani survey team. The alien, which escaped from Sevastopol, will now hunt in these new exterior environments, requiring both the player and the creature to adapt.
The sequel will take place months after the events of the first Alien: Isolation, retaining the low-fi sci-fi aesthetic and drawing inspiration from the original Alien movie. A Working Joe is glimpsed in the trailer, suggesting potential multiple antagonists.
