Aline Pereira, the sister of former UFC two-division champion Alex Pereira, has missed out on securing a UFC contract. Her opportunity came to an end after she suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Sweden's Smilla Sundell on Dana White's Contender Series.
The 36-year-old former kickboxer had hoped to join her brother in the UFC. This loss brings her professional MMA record to three wins and three losses since turning professional in 2022.
Following the fight, UFC president Dana White initially expressed uncertainty about offering a contract to the 21-year-old Sundell due to her inexperience, but was later convinced by his team. Elsewhere, White addressed Sean Strickland's claims regarding fighter pay, noting that the middleweight champion signed a new contract in May.
