A consortium spearheaded by Amanda Staveley has struck a deal to purchase a 25.1% stake in West Ham. The agreement sees Vanessa Gold, daughter of former chair David Gold, consent to sell her family’s shares in the Championship club.
This development comes after a previously arranged sale to fellow shareholder and Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky did not proceed. Vanessa Gold stated on Saturday that the sale is to a consortium led by Amanda Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, and PCP Capital Partners.
The Gold family trust currently owns the 25.1% stake in West Ham, who were relegated from the Premier League last season. The club had won the Europa Conference League in 2023, just two seasons prior to their relegation.
Vanessa Gold noted that the sale is still subject to a pre-emption process, which allows existing shareholders the option to buy the shares instead. She expressed her intention to be open with fans about the situation, despite the process not yet being concluded.
