British sprinter Amy Hunt has declared herself "on the up" and "not afraid of anyone" after securing a second-place finish in the 100m at the Diamond League final in Brussels. The 24-year-old clocked 11.06 seconds, placing her behind Jamaica's Tina Clayton, who won in 10.93 seconds.
This impressive performance follows Hunt's third-place finish in the 200m just one day prior, marking two podium appearances in two days. Her 100m result also saw her surpass American Olympic silver medallist Sha'Carri Richardson, who finished third in 11.07 seconds.
Hunt's strong late-season form continues after she claimed four gold medals at the European Championships in Birmingham last month. She is now set to compete in both the 100m and 200m at the inaugural Ultimate Championships event in Budapest, which is scheduled to begin on 11 September.
Fellow Briton Georgia Hunter Bell finished fourth in the 1500m despite being a pre-race favourite. Hunter Bell, who has competed in 19 races this year, attributed her performance to a "long hard season."
