Sprint sensation Amy Hunt is gearing up for a demanding programme at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, which run from 10-16 August. The 24-year-old will be a constant presence at the Alexander Stadium, competing in the 100m, 200m, women’s 4x100m relay, and the inaugural mixed 4x100m relay.

Hunt, a University of Cambridge graduate, has a strong track record, including an Olympic silver medal in Paris and a World Championship silver over 200m in Tokyo. She recently added a 100m silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, achieving medals at every major championship.

Despite the intense schedule, Hunt is eager to seize every medal opportunity, stating, “I don’t want to go on my Wikipedia page in 30 years’ time and just see one or two medals. I want to see lots of medals.” She views the new mixed 4x100m relay as potentially “iconic.”

Beyond her athletic ambitions, Hunt also plans to return to academia, having earned a degree in English literature. She currently trains in Padua, Italy, and aims to pursue a master’s degree at some point.

Why this matters: Amy Hunt's participation in multiple events, including the new mixed 4x100m relay, could offer significant medal opportunities for Britain at the European Athletics Championships.
